A while back we decided it would be a fun project to start cooking some of our stuff and packaging it in a way that people could bring it home and heat it up when they were ready.
We bought a nice freezer with a glass door. We put it in the front of our store and started filling it up with things like our Lasagna, Bolognese sauce, Vodka sauce and Marinara Sauce.
It became an instant hit with our customers!
People would come in to grab a pizza or a sub and walk over to the freezer and pick out a quart of sauce and a couple trays of lasagna. We were constantly filling up the freezer with products because the stuff was selling out so fast!
One day I noticed that the Marinara Sauce was one of our biggest sellers. People were buying several frozen quarts of Marinara Sauce at a time.
A guy even told me he could only buy 3 quarts at a time because he didn't have enough room in his freezer for more.
It was at that moment when the light bulb went off! MAKE THE SAUCE IN JARS!
I did the research on what needed to be done to make shelf-stable jars of Mortadella Head Marinara Sauce.
I submitted all of the necessary paperwork to a lab with our recipe. They sent me back specific instructions on how to make our All Natural Mortadella Head Marinara Sauce shelf-stable!
And we've been making it and selling it in the restaurant ever since.
